In this highly competitive business environment, we’re seeing a growing trend of CEOs across companies of all sizes developing their own thought leadership. This can be a powerful opportunity to differentiate your company and deepen relationships with employees, customers, partners, and other stakeholders in a way that can shape your company’s future.
That’s why we invited Peter Winick, founder and CEO of Thought Leadership Leverage, to speak with us. He’s a career entrepreneur and founder and CEO of Thought Leadership Leverage, a thought leadership strategy and development firm. He helps individuals and organizations build their thought leadership platforms to elevate company reputation, revenue growth, marketing, and customer experience. This helps business leaders and experts build ideas into platforms that launch content and products globally. Peter co-hosts the Leveraging Thought Leadership podcast with Bill Sherman. He also co-authored the newly published book The Thought Leadership Handbook with Bill Sherman and Neren Aryal.
During our conversation, Peter shares how and why CEO thought leadership has evolved over the decades. While this was originally about increasing visibility and personal brand, today it’s become a valuable opportunity to share ideas about what the company stands for and engage people in ways that can dramatically shape your company’s future. We also discuss how including employees in different functions and roles can amplify a core message in their own unique ways can leverage the impact of thought leadership.
For instance, Peter brings this to life with the story of a mid-market company whose leaders developed a belief system that grew out of what the company genuinely believed and lived. Over time, those ideas became part of how the company attracted employees, shaped its culture, improved retention and customer satisfaction, and supported long-term growth.
We also discuss the importance of connecting thought leadership to clear business outcomes and meaningful measures of success. We conclude with three immediately useful ideas for expanding the reach and impact of CEO thought leadership. This includes connecting thought leadership to clear business outcomes and meaningful measures of success.
